I noticed the beeping of heavy equipment backing up a few minutes ago and looked out to see the wooded view out our back door has been seriously compromised.
A crew working with a backhoe and a bulldozer is busy clearing the lot along our southern boundary, a sure sign we’ll have neighbors living there by this time next year. This comes as no big surprise, since I chatted with a surveying crew back there a few weeks ago and soon after test holes for soil percolation tests appeared.
We liked it vacant and woodsy, but it’s beyond our control. Happily, there are no plans to lay waste to the woods that border our property on the west.
