Stein of the Day

r32

This lidded half-liter stein commemorates the first BMW motorcycle, the R32, introduced in 1923.

It featured the original air-cooled boxer twin engine with a displacement of 486cc and a shaft drive. The bike had a three-speed gearbox and a top speed of about 60 mph.

BMW Design Director Max Friz is credited with the engine design.
