This week

Sorry about the lack of posts this week.
Lauri and Jim and their two boys are visiting and it's been a pretty active week.
They arrived about 3 a.m. Monday. I don't recall much of what we did on Monday other than a late breakfast at Cracker Barrel.
Tuesday's big event was the Nature Center at Craighead Forest Park.
Wednesday was travel day and we journeyed to Memphis to tour the Gibson guitar factory, lunch at B.B. King's place on Beale Street and browse the shops there.
Lunch was excellent, but the waitress moved slightly faster than a glacier and we worried that we wouldn't get away in time to make our 3 p.m. Gibson guitar factory tour. But we did and it was fascinating to see all of those hollow-body guitars are hand-crafted.
Maria and Lauri went fabric shopping and sewing while Jim and I took the boys to see Wall-e, to the Harley-Davidson shop and to Circuit City to ogle the GPS units and home theatre stuff.
This morning's activity is a tour of Crowley's Ridge Parkway from KAIT Road north to U.S. 412 with stops at Lake Frierson and Crowley's Ridge state parks.
It's been blazing hot most of the week with temperatures in the upper 90s and a heat index of 105-106.
