I’ve ever had here, I’m listening to tunes with my Bang & Olufsen H8
wireless headphones and what should come up in the rotation but “Rico Suave,”
the 1991 Latin hit by Gerardo Mejia, a sort of rapper from Ecuador.
I had a hard time not laughing out loud. It’s somewhere between comical and
pathetic in the way that Vanilla Ice was conspicuous as a poser.
We can all take comfort in the knowledge that Gerardo turned 50 last
month.
