It was a chilly 41° when I decided to ride to the post office this morning.
Instead of my Polizei jacket and Gerbings jacket liner, I opted for my old 1990s Firstgear TKO jacket with its Gerbings-wired liner and my bulky-but-warm Olympia heated gloves.
I couldn’t help feeling smugly superior as I zoomed down U.S. 49 into a wind chill of 24° experiencing welcome warmth spreading across my back and torso, down my arms and around my hands.
The jacket and custom wired liner are more than 20 years old, but it’s still a supremely useful cold weather motorcycle garment.
BTW, the photo is me at the summit of Beartooth Pass in Montana, warm and toasty in my TKO jacket.
