I bought this pin commemorating the R100RS in July, 1986, on my first transcontinental trip on my 1981 R100RS.
The destination was the BMW MOA national rally at Laguna Seca Raceway near Monterey, Calif.
I bought my R100RS used with about 17,000 miles on the odometer from Cycle Werks in Indianapolis in the fall of 1985 and it was my main ride until June 24, 1991 when I bought a ‘91 K100RS from BMW Motorcycles of Indianapolis. The R100RS had about 90,000 miles on the odometer when I sold it later that year.
