Mission accomplished

I borrowed Maria’s Lexus key, rather than use channel lock pliers to operate the disembodied key shaft that was once my key, and drove to Lexus of Memphis where I had a new master key cut.

It comes with a one-year warranty, which tells you that they expect it to break eventually.

Anyhow, I now have a fully functional car key again.
