Woo-freaking-hoo!

austin debit card At long last, Austin’s unemployment account debit card showed up in our post office box this morning.

Minutes after I returned home and handed it to him, he was off with a to-do list that included:

  • Shifting the balance from the debit card account to his local checking account.
  • Buying a fish tank water filter for his pet turtle.
  • Registering and plating his car.
  • Getting an oil change and new points, plugs and spark plug wires.

I’m sure he wants his own life back as much as we want ours and this gives him the freedom to get out of the house and do stuff.

I guess one good thing about being invested in other people’s problems is being able to feel elation and relief when things finally come right.
