It’s my 67th birthday and Maria is grilling a salmon steak from the fabulous cache of salmon Sean and Ruth sent us for Christmas.
I was out of beer, so I made a fun beer run up to the county line liquor store for a 12-pack of Budweiser, the most popular import beer in Ireland.
It was 67 years ago today that Robert Oppenheimer’s boys hoisted the first atomic bomb to the top of a steel tower in the New Mexico desert. It was on a Saturday. They lit up the desert with the world’s first atomic explosion the following Monday, so I am two days older than the Atomic Age.
