Bob Dylan will host a music show on XM Satellite Radio, beginning next March. XM says Dylan will play his favorite music, interview guest artists and answer e-mail from listeners - pretty much the same thing Tom Petty has been doing on XM for several months.
I sure am glad I chose XM over Sirius.
XM is all about the music while Sirius execs apparently think there are enough Howard Stern fans to keep them afloat. Sirius announced they reached the 3 million subscriber mark today. XM expects to have 6 million subscribers by the end of the year, i.e. Saturday.
I can't help thinking that Dylan is a bigger draw than Stern and will only serve to widen the gap.

This is somewhat misleading. Sirius had something like 600,000 subscribers when they announced the hiring of Stern. In the past year their subscrib er base increased 200% according to the latest reports I read. True, their total listenership is behind XM, but they are actually growing at a faster rate.
