Sammy Terry, aka Bob Carter, who hosted Saturday late-night scary movies on WTTV in Bloomington and Indianapolis from 1962 to 1989, died yesterday at American Senior Communities. He was 83.
He opened his show – called Nightmare Theatre an later Shock Theater – dressed in a cape and skull cap as he emerged from a coffin.
In real life, Carter owned and operated the Family Music Center music store on North Shadeland Avenue in Indianapolis.
I thought his act was somewhere between silly and stupid, but I think my sons watched him.
